For Gerlynnia Galgo, the COVID-19 pandemic brought an empowering change.
Thanks to her degree in Fine Arts, she leveraged her design skills to offer logo creation for budding digital businesses. This initial step led her to expand her skillset, eventually encompassing branding and marketing for her clients.
Today, Gerlynnia is among the 100 Most Influential Women in the Philippines on LinkedIn.
Her creative agency, GO Creatives Studio, allows her to focus on her passion – branding and design – while collaborating with specialists in website development when needed. Gerlynnia believes in crafting effective strategies based on her clients’ unique needs, always looking for potential gaps to build a robust foundation.
Devrims: Can you share a bit about your journey and how you stepped into branding and marketing?
Gerlynnia: I actually graduated with a Degree in Fine Arts. With that, I have already stepped into the world of Design – it just so later in my career I dived into something that would help out businesses and clients. I started offering Logo Design in the midst of the pandemic when people started different digital businesses here and there, and as I progressed, I upskilled my skills and eventually offered branding and marketing to my clients.
Devrims: Tell us about your role at Go Creatives Studio. How do you approach creating effective branding and advertising strategies for your clients?
Gerlynnia: GO Creatives is a studio I built as my business gradually progressed. Now, I engage in a multitude of activities, primarily focusing on branding and design. For website development, I collaborate with individuals who specialise in that area.
Approaches vary on a case-by-case basis depending on the client’s objectives. However, I believe it’s essential to first understand any potential loopholes to develop a robust strategy.
Devrims: With the digital landscape evolving rapidly, what do you vision for the future of branding, especially in the context of technology and social media?
Gerlynnia: Branding will always be relevant because AI can’t replicate what branding achieves, especially with strategy. At the end of the day, motions and the connections we establish through interpersonal relationships cannot be replaced.
Devrims: You are amongst the 100 Most Influential Women in the Philippines on LinkedIn! How has this recognition impacted your professional journey and how do you feel about it?
Gerlynnia: I was able to connect with more influential women based in the Philippines! This is significant, as it has helped me navigate more engagements and receive referrals for my career.
Devrims: Can you share some tips for personal branding on LinkedIn, especially for beginners aspiring to make a mark in their fields?
Gerlynnia: For beginners on LinkedIn, consistency is key. Show up regularly and share content that demonstrates your skills and knowledge. If you’re aiming to attract clients, highlight how you can help them solve problems. Also, don’t forget to connect with professionals in your field and engage with their content.

Gerlynnia: The best part of being a speaker, especially when discussing branding, is witnessing people’s amazement at the power and benefits of branding for their businesses. Additionally, one of the highlights is the opportunity to meet and learn from various industry leaders. It’s incredibly rewarding to exchange insights and expand my knowledge base through these interactions.

Gerlynnia: My message to aspiring professionals in branding and advertising is to enjoy the journey. Building a career in this field is a dynamic and rewarding experience, filled with constant learning and evolution. ultivate a passion for creativity and innovation, and never stop seeking inspiration from the world around you. Remember, success in branding and advertising often stems from a genuine love for the craft.
Devrims: Balancing career with personal life is also important. How do you maintain that balance, and do you have any self-care practices?
Gerlynnia: Maintaining balance between work and personal life is key for me. I prioritize sleep by going to bed early and waking up early. I also make sure to spend time on things I love, like creating art. These self-care practices help me stay balanced and energized for both work and personal pursuits.
