It is said when a door closes, another one opens.

For Gerlynnia Galgo, the COVID-19 pandemic brought an empowering change.

Thanks to her degree in Fine Arts, she leveraged her design skills to offer logo creation for budding digital businesses. This initial step led her to expand her skillset, eventually encompassing branding and marketing for her clients.

Today, Gerlynnia is among the 100 Most Influential Women in the Philippines on LinkedIn.

Her creative agency, GO Creatives Studio, allows her to focus on her passion – branding and design – while collaborating with specialists in website development when needed. Gerlynnia believes in crafting effective strategies based on her clients’ unique needs, always looking for potential gaps to build a robust foundation.

Devrims: Can you share a bit about your journey and how you stepped into branding and marketing?

Gerlynnia: I actually graduated with a Degree in Fine Arts. With that, I have already stepped into the world of Design – it just so later in my career I dived into something that would help out businesses and clients. I started offering Logo Design in the midst of the pandemic when people started different digital businesses here and there, and as I progressed, I upskilled my skills and eventually offered branding and marketing to my clients.

Devrims: Tell us about your role at Go Creatives Studio. How do you approach creating effective branding and advertising strategies for your clients?

Gerlynnia: GO Creatives is a studio I built as my business gradually progressed. Now, I engage in a multitude of activities, primarily focusing on branding and design. For website development, I collaborate with individuals who specialise in that area.

Approaches vary on a case-by-case basis depending on the client’s objectives. However, I believe it’s essential to first understand any potential loopholes to develop a robust strategy.
